Software
In order to accommodate rapid software update and innovation cycles, information needs to be stored one single time, but in a structure that allows the generation of any document type (e.g. product specification, testing requirements, marketing and sales documentation, product and feature descriptions, user manuals, getting started/quick start guides, instructions, online help, and software user interfaces, etc.), in any language and media, the moment data has changed.
GRIPS is a multi-dimensional indexing system designed to capture data in context, every single time in one single instance. By storing the information once, all ambiguities are eliminated and the accuracy and quality of all publications are significantly enhanced, i.e. for example that all user interface text is consistent in all related product documentation. The system uses a series of filters and a layout management system to enable for example: product-specific publications in any format (including publishing to other applications, etc.), in any language – on demand. Software localization − translating the software's user interface − is further optimized through GRIPS' translation functionalities.
Once product data is captured, new software versions and builds are a snap to accurately document in all languages, shortening time to market.
Although GRIPS was designed to store information as it is created, the system is flexible enough to accommodate and leverage documentation currently in use.
